Writing has always been a passion of mine, but lately I’ve lost the desire. My dream has always been to write professionally. Seeing my name in print and maybe even showing up on the best sellers list would make my professional life complete. The major problem with this dream of mine is that whenever I sit down and attempt to write anything, my mind and imagination seem to go on a permanent hiatus. So now I find myself in “Blog Land.” It can’t hurt, right? I’ve heard that any type of writing can be therapy for the soul. I’ve never been one to believe in therapy. I keep to myself and try to solve my own problems, for the most part. I do have one friend that I can easily confide in, but lately I feel as if that gift has been taken advantage of. This friend has her own life to lead and I’ve been taking advantage more than I’d like to admit as of late.

My personal life isn’t exactly perfect at the moment. In fact, it’s far from perfect. I’m talking personally, financially, and even romantically. Maybe instead of bitching and moaning about it to the one person that is good enough to listen and give an honest opinion, writing about it will help me to figure some things out. I’ve at least concluded that it’s worth a shot.

Mind you, this blog will not be a series of sappy, poor me entries. I do plan on writing on a variety of topics, but many will delve into the life of a not-so-perfect individual. Certain entries will be extremely personal, but not to worry: names will be changed to protect the innocent. In fact, my own name will most likely never be revealed.

I’m not even sure if this blog will be public yet. I may just have this as my own personal web log, at least for the near future. If and when I do decide to allow others to read the entries, your honest opinion on my writing will be appreciated. I have a long way to go, as it’s been so long since I’ve written anything. Anything worth reading, that is.

In closing, I also plan to periodically post fictitious entries to this web log. Practice short stories, if you will. My ultimate goal is to have my work published one day. Hopefully, this project will serve me well, as far as regaining my writing skills and passion back to what it was before.
